“This is a very personal song for me - somewhat autobiographical,” Gov’t Mule’s Warren Haynes says of “Dreams & Songs” from Gov’t Mule’s 2017 release Revolution Come…Revolution Go. “It’s about looking in the rearview mirror at life and how fast time flies by and the changes that come along with that. There’s this expression ‘you can’t go home again’ and I was thinking about that when I wrote this song. It’s kind of true in a sense, because you’re on this journey and when you look back you realize how much you’ve been through and where you came from to get to this point.”
Today we premiere the lyric video for Dreams & Songs” from an album filled with social and political themes that we’d said “harness today’s urgency…While Gov’t Mule have always thrived on their virtuoso instrumental attack, Haynes’ lyrics prove to be more crucial than usual this time around.”
The group travels to Australia next week for a series of shows and then back to North America for a tour that kicks off on April 18.
